time to wrap the presents
I saw my friend Martha today. It was so nice to hang out with her and catch up. I got to peek at some of her new work in her van. Yummy!

Now it's time to wrap the presents! I hope to catch Olive the Other Reindeer on the Cartoon Network tomorrow, always a treat! And then of course A Christmas Story which will be playing all day on Sunday -- a classic which Paul and I quote from year round.
My hubby and I love to use the "glue" line from A Christmas Story for anything we can justify, and many things we can't.

"You ate all the cookies...on PURPOSE!"

"You used all the toilet paper...on PURPOSE!"

We also like to refer to our neighbors as "The Bumpuses". Don't ask.
My favorite moment in A Christmas Story is when the teacher says, "You are going to write...A THEME" I think I just like that part because I'm a teacher too and I hope I don't sound that hokey when I 'm giving assignments.

I wonder why I just don't just but the dvd. It seems more fun to see it on tv every year.

The glue line was uttered in our household the other day. Claudine was searching for some and I used it all up on purpose to repair my "major award!"

The "theme" scene is great. I love it when Ralph fantasizes about turning it in...."Oh! The theme I've been waiting for all my life. Listen to this sentence: "A Red Ryder BB gun with a compass in the stock, and this thing which tells time". Poetry. Sheer poetry, Ralph! An A++++++!

Happy Christmas everyone! Love you Claudine, see you after work!
Paul and I often use the "mommy's little piggy" line when we are trying to get Toby to eat his food.

That movie is such a classic, every part of it is great.

And I agree with Debbi, there is something about watching it on TV over and over again every year that makes it extra special.
Happy Holidays! Your book (Collage discovery workshop: Make your own collage creations using vintage photos...etc.) on collage was on my wishlist and I received it for Christmas and I'm all ready to start trying the background techniques! Thanks for writing the book and providing tips for us novice collage-makers.
