We were all so excited, we ran out early this morning and bought up all the NY Times copies that they had at Starbucks!
Tomorrow (Wednesday) morning at the crack of dawn, well BEFORE dawn, at about 4:30am Paul and I will be loading up the car with Toby in his doggie car seat for a 14 hour drive to Orlando FL. I'll be updating via Twitter as we travel and over the weekend! I hope everyone has a safe and stress free Thanksgiving!
After I got back I was exhausted, had a big huge nap, then headed to an office party for Paul's work in Georgetown. I love Georgetown it is so cute! I just wish it weren't so expensive or we would be living there.
Today I worked all day on various projects and custom orders, illustrations and things I need to get done by Tuesday evening. Wednesday we'll be doing the 14 hour drive down to FL.
If you get the NY Times, check the small business section on Thanksgiving Day, I may be mentioned as part of an article about artist entrepreneurs. I was interviewed last week, and I hope my part of the interview makes the cut into the article!!!
A big linky shout out to Jenny Doh who made a cute lazy susan project using the Claudine Hellmuth Sticky Back Canvas and paints!

It didn't help that I smashed my hand by accident on a kitchen cabinet and then spent a good part of the day icing it down so I could draw and type! It's still swollen, I am wondering when the swelling will go down. At least it doesn't hurt anymore so tomorrow I should be nice and productive barring any unforeseen injuries!

This book isn't like my other books, it's based on an idea generation process that we did when I was in art college. I loved working in this method when I was in college and I still use it today I am excited to be sharing with you my variation of it with this new kit.
Here are a few photos so you can see what it's like:
This is the front of the kit, it's a box that you open up and all the goodies are inside. I love the packaging!
When you open the kit, this is what you'll see! At the top left there is a deck of word prompt cards and on the right there are the color prompt cards.
Opened up for you to see here - is the book part of the kit. Which explains the process, and is loaded with examples from designers in each section.
This is the back of the kit with the blurb! The book isn't available until January but you can pre-order it from Amazon now!
In addition to the classes there is a trade show with all kinds of amazing goodies and art supplies! The trade show is free + open to the public if you want to stop by and say hi!

EDITED Wednesday 11:55am: I see some of you have questions! Please check the comments to this post because I am answering them there!
EDITED Wednesday 2:40PM: Just a note to those of you who have never taken an online class before or might not be sure how it works. You don't have to actually be online at your computer during the class. By signing up for the class you will then be able to download the class and work on it at your convenience. I will be giving the classes Monday - Wed and answering questions during that time + the one hour chat on Tuesday night -- but you can be online at anytime!
All of the supplies are probably ones you already have in your craft room, and you can gather the supplies once you see how the class is going. I will also have printables for you download an start using right away!
This is one that I got from Betz White. Love her work! So whimsical and fun! You should check out her felted cupcakes. Too cute!
It warmed up last week but now it's cooling down and soon I'll be able to wear cute scarfs like this every day! That might make the winter seem just that little bit more fun!

The first book is the The Pocket Paper Engineer by Carol Barton. What a great pop-up instruction book!
Here's a view of one of the inside pages. The books have little elements tucked inside pockets in each chapter that you can use to experiment with the paper folding techniques that Carol shows you. There are tons and tons of diagrams. Super detailed instructions with fold outs and pop-ups you can try right away. Turns out that Carol lives near the DC area and teaches classes, I can't wait to sign up for one!
The second book is Interactive Art Workshop by Kim Rae Nugent. I actually have a piece in the back in the gallery section! This book arrived arrived just about the same time as the Pocket Paper Engineer. Hmmmm.... maybe my muse is trying to tell me that I need to be doing more pop-ups!
Kim's book is an interactive treat! I love how she combines mixed media art with interactive constructions. One of the things that always intimidates me about making pop-ups is that I feel I would need to be neat and tidy with my paper and not get paint all over it. Kim, throws those fears out the window and shows how you can make interactive MIXED media art!
I have created a companion PDF guide to mixing all the colors. Click here to download the Color Mixing Chart. You'll learn how to take the 15 original colors in the Claudine Hellmuth Studio Line and expand them too over 51 colors! Wow! That's a lot of colors!
If you are a retailer and you sell the Claudine Hellmuth Studio paints, please feel free to download the chart and include it with the paint display in your store!
Check your local crafts/scrapbook or arts supply store for availability. Claudine Hellmuth Studio Products are for sale online at these locations:
