Tomorrow (Wednesday) morning at the crack of dawn, well BEFORE dawn, at about 4:30am Paul and I will be loading up the car with Toby in his doggie car seat for a 14 hour drive to Orlando FL. I'll be updating via Twitter as we travel and over the weekend! I hope everyone has a safe and stress free Thanksgiving!

holiday orders are full
Just a quick update! My Holiday order schedule is full. Custom artwork orders placed from here on out can not be guaranteed in time for Christmas. As an alternative, I have an On Its Way Certificate option. This is a perfect choice to let your recipient know that you have a special gift -- literally on its way! You place the order and all your special someone has to do is sit back and wait for their surprise to arrive. You will receive a certificate and full color brochure to give to your recipient on Christmas Day. Click here for more info.
weekend round up
Saturday I headed out to Angela's Happy Stamper where I did a two hour meet-n-greet + demo. We packed the store and I was so exited to see so many people came out on a freezing cold Saturday! Angela's quickly sold out of all the products, but don't worry if you are in the area, she'll be getting more in soon!!
After I got back I was exhausted, had a big huge nap, then headed to an office party for Paul's work in Georgetown. I love Georgetown it is so cute! I just wish it weren't so expensive or we would be living there.
Today I worked all day on various projects and custom orders, illustrations and things I need to get done by Tuesday evening. Wednesday we'll be doing the 14 hour drive down to FL.

busy busy!
I am feeling a lot like one of Santa's elves working away in my workshop on custom orders for Christmas! Right now my work table is filled with canvases in various stages of completion. I have a lot to get done before we leave on Wednesday for Florida for Thanksgiving.
It didn't help that I smashed my hand by accident on a kitchen cabinet and then spent a good part of the day icing it down so I could draw and type! It's still swollen, I am wondering when the swelling will go down. At least it doesn't hurt anymore so tomorrow I should be nice and productive barring any unforeseen injuries!

scrapbooker's creativity kit!
I just got the advance copy of my new book The Scrapbooker's Creativity Kit! I am so excited to be able to share it with you!
This book isn't like my other books, it's based on an idea generation process that we did when I was in art college. I loved working in this method when I was in college and I still use it today I am excited to be sharing with you my variation of it with this new kit.

This is the front of the kit, it's a box that you open up and all the goodies are inside. I love the packaging!

North Carolina here I come!
Tomorrow I am driving down to Raleigh where I'll be teaching 3 days of classes at the Jerry's Artarama event.
In addition to the classes there is a trade show with all kinds of amazing goodies and art supplies! The trade show is free + open to the public if you want to stop by and say hi!
Ranger will be there at the trade show with all the Ranger goodies including the Claudine Hellmuth Studio product line! There will also be lots of other cool vendors there! Here's a list of all the Vendors.

Just a quick update! I have a 3 day online workshop that I am teaching with Scrap in Style TV. It's now available for purchase - only $12! WOW! Class starts this Monday Nov 17th and will run for 3 days. There will also be an hour long chat for questions and I will be answering questions during the 3 days. All class participants will receive a downloadable PDF so they can work at their own pace.

the only good thing about winter
The only good thing about cold weather in my book is the fact that I can now buy as many scarfs as I like! I am a scarf-a-holic and not afraid to admit it! Most of the time even in semi warm weather I will be wearing some sort of scarf. I am always cold, and there's nothing like a scarf to keep to you warm. I have spring, summer and fall scarfs and now a cute winter scarf too!
This is one that I got from Betz White. Love her work! So whimsical and fun! You should check out her felted cupcakes. Too cute!
It warmed up last week but now it's cooling down and soon I'll be able to wear cute scarfs like this every day! That might make the winter seem just that little bit more fun!

it's thursday but it feels like wednesday
It has felt like Wednesday all day to me. I can't believe tomorrow is the end of the week! Akk! This time next week I will have driven to Raleigh NC and I'll be getting ready to teach at the Jerry's Artarama event Nov 14-16th.

new books in my studio
I have two new books that just arrived in my studio all about paper folding and paper engineering. Both of these books are inspiring and make me wish for a little more free time so I can play and experiment with these techniques!
The first book is the The Pocket Paper Engineer by Carol Barton. What a great pop-up instruction book!
Here's a view of one of the inside pages. The books have little elements tucked inside pockets in each chapter that you can use to experiment with the paper folding techniques that Carol shows you. There are tons and tons of diagrams. Super detailed instructions with fold outs and pop-ups you can try right away. Turns out that Carol lives near the DC area and teaches classes, I can't wait to sign up for one!
The second book is Interactive Art Workshop by Kim Rae Nugent. I actually have a piece in the back in the gallery section! This book arrived arrived just about the same time as the Pocket Paper Engineer. Hmmmm.... maybe my muse is trying to tell me that I need to be doing more pop-ups!
Kim's book is an interactive treat! I love how she combines mixed media art with interactive constructions. One of the things that always intimidates me about making pop-ups is that I feel I would need to be neat and tidy with my paper and not get paint all over it. Kim, throws those fears out the window and shows how you can make interactive MIXED media art!
