wow!
Yesterday we had an amazing day trip. On our way down to the Niki de Saint Phalle gardens, we stopped for lunch at a little town called Porto Ercole, it's on the Mediterranean, beautiful and amazing. We walked the beach a little bit and picked up buckets and buckets of sea glass, everywhere we looked there was another piece! I have never seen so much sea glass.

Then we headed south to the Niki gardens which absolutely blew me away. I knew they would be cool and exciting, but I never expected to see such an incredible sight! Everyone was speechless. I can not wait to post the photos, and I know the photos won't even do it justice. We were all so inspired and on the bus ride back to the hotel we all kept exclaiming "WOW" every few minutes. There are no words to describe it but wow!

Tomorrow we'll go to Siena which will be so much fun. I love the duomo there and I can't wait to see it again.

I see my mom posted a Toby update in the comments of my last post. Thanks mom! And also a big thanks to mom and dad for looking after our little Toby and our wonderful pet sitter for keep the cats safe and sound!

See you in a couple days!

Hi Claudine! Too bad your sick! The same thing happened to me when Sheila and I went to Rome, she thinks I made myself sick worrying about what to take! Which is silly, because I shopped so much I could've brought one thing and been set. I hope you you get better before you leave, so you can enjoy more of your trip! I can't wait to see your pics so I can live vicariously!

Sounds like it was a brilliant day. I am keen to know what you'll use the beach glass for...I have heaps of it I have collected over the years, and have no idea of what to do with it.

The mummy report

My husband checked on the cats yesterday - without setting off the burglar alarm and having the police called. That was the big achievement. He said Stanley wanted lots of cuddles and pushed Mable aside to get to him. Toby reigning supreme. He likes 5 a.m. walks, being hand fed and has now taken over the cat's special room. C & P will be back this time next week. I can't wait to see them and hear all the adventures. toby will go beserk.

Claudine:

That sounds incredible! We're so glad you are feeling better, you and Paul deserve to enjoy yourselves as much as you can while you are there. Hope that the workshops go smoothly and looking forward to hearing the stories when you get back. Madison had fun smashing some of her birthday cake yesterday! We'll celebrate when you get back! Take care and be safe! Tell the Pope we said "Ciao" when you get back to Rome!
Your brother in law,

Patrick

Hi Claudine's mum, sounds like the cats are holding up well. I think you need your own blog, why let Claudine hog all the family fame!

The Mummy Report

Toby had an excellent night. Actually, slept until about 6.30 this morning. I think I'm finally getting the hang of being a dog grandmother.. you don't walk him eveyr time he goes "Onk." When he woke up at 3 a.m. and started making plaintiff noises I just said a firm "No" and he went back in his bed. Previously, no matter what the hour i had been geting up and marching him around the circle, which takes about 30 minutes. Not good for my beauty sleep.
