great falls!
Saturday Paul and I went with our friend Kim to Great Falls out in VA. It's hard to believe that this place is so close to where we live here in DC. It feels as if you are hundreds of miles away!
We did a little guided tour with a Park Ranger and it was really a treat! She suggested coming back at each season to see how it changes. I imagine it's beautiful in the fall season with the leaves changing. We plan to go back and bring a little picnic!

I took my kids to the Falls when they were little- very nice! If I remember, there were picnic tables for a picnic, which we did- it is a nice memory! Thanks for reminding me of it!

Oh my god you are so right about Great Falls.
I went to this place just out of blue and when I reached there it felt like a exotic hideout right in the middle of the city. Gorgeous.
I went from teh VA side but I live in MAryland and I am told the MAryland side of Great falls too is very beautiful.

I was just in VA/Washington, D.C. area visiting my sister. I will have to go there next time. Looks beautiful!
Claudine,
Don't forget to spend some time touring Virginia's great vinyards, including the Breaux, near Purcellville, as well as others in that area. Leesburg is a cute place to check out too!
Cheers,
